So, what is Karma really?
There is a lot written and said about karma, a complex spiritual concept that is described in both schools of Buddhism and Hinduism. In our Western world we mainly perceive it as a form of punishment or reward, however karma is simply the law of action – reaction. It is neutral and is not about judgement, i.e. if something is good or bad. In Sanskrit, the ancient Indo-European language of India in which the Hindu scriptures, classical mystical poems and the Vedas have been written, Karma literally means 'action', 'deed', 'work' or 'act'. Karma (कर्म) refers to 1) any action or deed; 2) the principle of cause and effect; 3) a consequence or 'fruit of action' (karmaphala) or 'after effect' (uttaraphala). Every thought you send out, intention you set, emotion you release, word you speak and deed you do has a vibration that goes out, and is an action that ripples out into the energetic 'field of existence' and therefore has a consequence, shaping our futures and lives. Believe it or not, even the act of incarnation into a body here on Earth is an action and therefore creates karma. The Law of Karma describes a dynamic in our multiverse, an interconnectedness, a response of the energetic field of existence to your being that ripples back to you in energy, vibration, thought, words and/or experiences. What you send out, you get back – however not always in the way you expect! This 'coming back to you' is known as a your karmic return.
"What you send out, you get back – however not always in the way you expect!"
Your Karmic Return
The energy of compassion, love, selflessness, play, contentment, generosity, peace, thoughtfulness, forgiveness, bliss, truthfulness, positivity, acceptance, humbleness, empowerment, kindness and graciousness are considered to create pleasant karma. They are higher vibrational and qualities of the Light. When you send these energies out, they will be returned to you quickly. Hate, anger, exploitation, jealousy, fear, arrogance, judgement, manipulation, shame, control and resentment are examples of destructive energies. We also often pick these up from the collective and carry these around subconsciously, especially when we've experienced trauma. When you send out these negative energies, they too will return to you in some form. Negative energies have a lower frequency, and therefore a way slower karmic return. The higher your vibration, the more quickly karma / your actions return to you. Lower vibrational actions and beings might only experience their karmic return thousands of lifetimes later, even in another part of the universe. Some of us experience ‘instant karma’. If you feel that you never get away with anything, you may be experiencing instant karma. This means that whatever you do comes back to you immediately, even within 5 minutes! But don't worry, this is actually a good sign. It means that you're becoming more evolved and carry more light your consciousness / awareness, and your karmic balance sheet is being kept clear by your soul / Higher Self. Your soul is no longer allowing you to accumulate any 'negative karma' or 'karmic debt' as it's clearing out all attachments to this reality.

Your Karmic Balance
People on the spiritual path may resonate with the process of first having to go through a rather tricky and difficult phase of karmic debit, where we complete our lessons and balance our actions – often also referred to as 'burning karma'. Then, we enter our karmic credit phase, where things go easier, our consciousness becomes higher (as the attachments are cleared from our hologram) and we start to live in harmony with the world. In the highest state of consciousness you are almost above karma. This is the state of the Avadhūtas (अवधूता), or realised beings. You have reached a state of the 'crystal' or 'Christ Consciousness' where you are beyond everything, as you are One with everything. You are the formless experiencing form. People and lower astral beings get immediately transmuted in your presence and freely bow down to your infinite love, wisdom, compassion and grace. You stand very close to Source. An example of a current living incarnation is the divine personality or avatar Mother Meera. Yet also this consciousness can get attacked by the negative consciousness, as happened to the Christ, since he brought so much Light into this world that he was seen as too big of a threat. He did open up a path though and left his keys of consciousness onto this earth and into our earthly dimensions.
Everything that lives creates karma, including animals and families that can have accumulated ancestral karma. Nations and peoples can also have karma. So does land which can have karmic imprints, especially when things like fear, torture and war happened on the land.
Your health, your talents and your mindsets that you bring into this life with you are also your karma. They are related to psychic contracts you made with reality, people and places. If you have a mindset that you are not good enough, never have enough, are unworthy of happiness, the field of existence automatically responds and will draw experiences into your life that make you feel inferior, poor and unlucky. It becomes tricky when we hold these mindsets in our subconscious. This often happens with childhood trauma. We then don't understand why things happen the way they do. Positive beliefs about yourself or the world create pleasant karma in your life (or the next).
"The field of existence automatically responds and will draw experiences into your life."
Karma, Family & Past Lives
Karma also extends beyond lifetimes. We may not experience the consequences of our actions until subsequent lifetimes. For this reason there is often no obvious and visible correlation between an action and its consequence/s. Now, at the turning of the cycles, many opportunities are there to cleanse our karmic residue and go through experiences, people and places one more time before we let them go forever, so we don't take them with us into the next new cycle. This is known as 'completion'. Especially in the process of ascension and spiritual growth we are guided to reach completion and balance our karma. Our soul will not allow to built up anymore karma, rather it aims to complete old outstanding attachments and lessons with people and places.
Your family is also your karma and you might have had many incarnations with them in different constellations. Your soul chooses your family before you are born. Difficult family ties may be a consequence of unresolved attachments, dynamics, lessons or situations in a past life. You deliberately choose to be born into your family or family line, because your soul wants another chance to resolve the outstanding balance and complete the lessons your soul intended to learn. Souls of the Light always come in a little group of friends, so they can support each other. You might incarnate in different constellations each time, also in family constellations.
"Karmic cycles and attachments that are the hardest to break are those evolving around the body."
The Most Sticky Forms of Karma
Karmic attachments follow you beyond lifetimes, so therefore sometimes (a chain of) events happen that are hard to understand why, and it and feel quite victimising, like you're constantly having bad luck or (me being Dutch) it feels like you're biking through life with a lot of headwind. This simply means your soul is clearing away your attachments. Karmic cycles and attachments that are the hardest to clear are those evolving around the body such as murder and rape, however also around having romantic intimacy and having children. After your first interaction you will most likely incarnate in different constellations for some lifetimes. One time your lover is your child, then your friend, then your parent, etc. This can happen with souls that are close to you however also souls you have karmic attachments with. Once, when I flipped through the Akashic Records (see also more on this below), this is what I saw:
Life One: 15.000 years ago a man gets raped and victimised by a group of women. He then takes it out on an innocent woman who happens to be at the wrong place and time
Life Two: in the next life she ends up in an arranged marriage with him in ancient Babylonia
Life Three: she is found by him again when a temple in ancient Greece get's raided and she is made his slave. It is so bad she tries to commit suicide by drowning in the waves of the sea
Life Four: she is found by him as a child at the court of 19th century Imperial Russia and gets abused sexually with black magic (Romanovs)
"They think this is love, however it's actually just old karmic residue."
You can see how this victim / aggressor cycle continuous until it reaches the outer boundaries of victimisation. Also note how initially the male character was victimised and how it escalated over time until the female character starts to ascend and step out of this karmic cycle. At some point the soul has had enough though and waits for a different moment in time and space to incarnate and complete / end this cycle:
Life Five: they meet in 2021 when Venus aligns with ancient Babylonia, and feel a familiar connection. They think this is love, however it's actually just old karmic residue
They're now in a time and location where you cannot rape, murder or forcefully marry someone again and she manages to leave the toxic relationship
She finds an energetic healer or Avatar (Mother Meera) that can fast track her process and help her lift her karma
She might still suffer abuse, but manages to escape to safety
After walking the earth of an island in Greece she knows the process is done
Another example would be:
A woman is different from the rest and is accused of witch craft in medieval England and tortured to death. Someone wants her gone for whatever reason and she get's locked into an Iron Maiden at the isle of a church
In the next life she meets her torturers again, this time as abusive bosses in a fashion company. She feels a familiar connection and perhaps a lot of anxiety around her bosses. She might have a very hard time standing up for herself yet she cannot explain why exactly
Is this fair? NO. Is it happening? YES.
"You can see how this victim / aggressor cycle continuous until it reaches the outer boundaries of victimisation."
The 7 Primary Karmic Patterns
To describe these core karmic patterns I will lend the words of the late healer Amorah Quan Yin as she describes it perfectly: "On a collective level there are 7 primary karmic patterns that are important to be transcended and cleared at this time. The patterns that are currently being exaggerated in order to bring them into our awareness so that we can transform them are: arrogance, addiction, prejudice, hatred violence, victimhood, and shame. These seven sources of pain, illusion, and separation are listed in the order they developed in this solar ring – beginning on Venus and expanding on Mars, Maldek, and finally Earth. How they have culminated on Earth is so obvious that it seems pointless to elaborate very much.
Whether the United States has an attitude of supremacy in the world or a New Ager has an attitude of being superior to less aware, nonspiritual people, the attitude is still called arrogance. Whether an alcoholic lies in the gutter in Los Angeles or a person obsesses about his/her physical appearance or the body of his/her mate, this pattern is still called addiction. Whether the KKK burn crosses in black people's yards or a spiritual person looks down on a 'redneck', it is still called prejudice. Whether capitalists hate communists or the 'politically correct' person hates the loggers and builders, the attitude is still called hatred. Whether the United States creates war in Vietnam or Central America or a parent spanks and degrades a child, the activity is still called violence. Whether Native Americans, Aborigines, or other indigenous people are killed and have their land destroyed by white people or squirrels and deer are killed by unaware people driving too fast, the problem is still victimhood. Whether Germany bears the scars of Hitler or poor people feel unworthy because of their poverty, the feeling is still called shame.
From the most obvious to the most subtle, each person individually must do his/her part to recognize and heal these patterns. The variations of individual expression of these seven main karmic issues are many. However, if you look closely enough, you can see that the source of every problem on Earth today is one or more of these seven solar-ring karmic patterns. These patterns are accompanied by the absence of awareness of the four evolutionary principles, which must now be learned. [Author's Note: The seven karmic patterns listed above are general to this solar ring, although their resolution is being worked out on Earth. There are also seven primary vices, or ego allurements, that are specific to the Incan mystery school teachings and to planet Earth. They are: lust, laziness, gluttony, pride, anger, envy, and greed. In the Incan teachings, humans must overcome these ego allurements prior to attaining spiritual power.]"

What the End of a Karmic Cycle Looks Like
People that are at the end of their karmic cycle are often struggling, however this can take different forms. Often people that have done demeaning, victimising and painful things to others are in this life born with mental and personality struggles such as NPD (narcissistic personality disorder), ASPD (anti-social personality disorder, i.e. a psychopath or sociopath), BPD or have experiences with psychosis. This is due to damage to the soul, and the biological and spiritual form a beautiful union to express the state of consciousness. These people can often still function quite well in today's society, especially in roles of power and leadership, as so many of us like to give away their power and are not willing or able to see the dark and damaging personality traits.
On the other hand, people that have experienced the victim role in many lifetimes will rather struggle with physical trauma, PTSD, exhaustion, autoimmunity and money troubles (as often they have been taken advantage of or incarnate in a family that struggles to clear up this karma).
At some point your soul will get tired of this victim - aggressor paradigm and will start to take back its power. This is also happening on a larger scale with the masculine and feminine consciousness, where there has been a war on everything feminine for so long – and now the feminine has had enough.
"Your soul will get tired of this victim - aggressor paradigm and will start to take back its power."
The "Good people have good karma" Myth
Unfortunately it's a myth that good people have only good experiences happening to them. As an example: the act of incarnating as a soul of the light into the denser earthly world will already receive a reaction of the negative consciousness, since they see the presence of the Light as a direct threat that needs to be taken out.
You might also accumulate karma simply by being an innocent soul not used to the duality of Earth, and you're simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. You're still too naive and don't realise how to protect yourself– unnecessary in the realms of the Light, where only harmony, abundance, collaboration, peace, unity, kindness and ease exist.
If you're a soul from the Light and you bring down a lot of transformative energy this will also have a karmic effect, as the darkness, or lower consciousness, currently ruling the planet doesn't want to die or dissolve back into the One. Jeanne D'Arc is a beautiful example, where she came to protect and help humanity, and break karmic patterns. Together with the Legions of the Light and a divinely guided will she managed to do so, however also received horrible tortures in the end, which her soul had to work through and heal in lifetimes after (can you imagine this would play out in an office setting nowadays? How far out and yet how real!).
The negative consciousness will attack you and you might have unpleasant experiences here on earth, hence why so many soft and gentle souls struggle to be here. The attacks are often aimed at our root chakras so we struggle to materialise, bond with life here on earth and materialise the way of living of the Light (often described in utopias).
"We have now reached a point where we accumulated so much karmic returns and entanglements there is no room for more."
How to Avoid Taking on Karma
I realised there are subtle ways to take on karma that doesn't belong to you. As kind souls we like to help and support wherever we can. We struggle to see suffering and want to bring harmony and peace in the world. This sometimes can be the ego of the Light. Who are we to change the experience of Prime Creator who is in everything? Perhaps it's necessary to go through the suffering, in a way that we don't yet understand. Who are we to decide suffering is bad or good? It is just an experience depending on how you look at it. Of course from the perspective of the Light it is unpleasant. To avoid taking on a burden that isn't yours to carry you can mind the following:
Be choosy with who you sleep with and share your body with. Since you 'blend' so deeply with another person you will form a very deep energetic chord and will take on a bit of their essence.
Be mindful of helping people, you might avoid that people learn their own lessons. Instead of wanting to help, trust that they can deal with the challenges coming their way. After all, they also created them on a certain level
Your ancestors often want to materialise their own unfinished business and unmet needs through you. In a healing session you can detangle these karmic patterns, give back their energy and break karmic cycles and behavioural patterns that are not yours
You might also sometimes accidentally take on karma from the collective, especially when you have completed your own. Make the decision that you only carry what is yours, the rest you ask to be lifted and returned
Practice inaction. A lot of Divine Personalities choose to speak and act very little. My theory is they do this to preserve their karmic balance. This means you learn to control your judgements, thoughts, actions emotional reactions (not your feelings) or maybe even take a vow of silence. Especially judgement is a trap.
Receiving Karmic Dispensation
We have now reached a point where we accumulated so much karmic returns and entanglements there is no room for more, we have reached the outer boundaries of the experience and are ready to free ourselves. It is not just personal karma that needs to be cleared. Some beings of the Light are able to support you with your karmic load and dissolve or untangle 'karmic knots' and attachments, also referred to as divine karmic dispensations. These beings of the Light include:
The Karmic Board
The Karmic Board oversees the application of Karma for everyone on earth. The ones I work with are:
The Divine Director (a cosmic being on the Blue Ray, embodies power, protection and the will of Source, adjudicates divine justice)
The Goddess of Liberty (embodies the Divine Feminine and freedom, personal liberty, and the right to be free from restraint)
Lady Nada (Ascended Master, Ruby Red & Pink Ray, embodies the Divine Feminine aspects of self-acceptance and enjoyment of life)
Goddess Pallas Athena (this Greek Goddess embodies the Divine Feminine and the intellect and intuition combined)
Quan Yin (Buddha of Compassion, embodiment of the Divine Feminine, pastel Pink Ray, Bodhisattva of Mercy)
Lady Portia (Ascended Master, Violet/Pink Ray, embodies the Divine Feminine, master of balance and peace)
The Christ (Ascended Master, Golden Ray, master of acceptance, forgiveness, compassion and unconditional love, part of the great White Brotherhood and embodies the Divine Masculine)
You can call upon the karmic board in meditation to fast track your process. You can also work with me in a healing session. Other Light Beings that can support you with your karmic load are:
The Hindu God Ganesha, remover of obstacles. He has the authority to lift karma
Mother Meera (Supreme Being, Avatar). She brigs peace, love and compassion and gently, carefully unties karmic knots so your life can move forward and you may learn the lessons that need to be learned and lived. As a Supreme Being she has this authority. If you'd like to speed up your spiritual process it is highly recommended to visit her. She brings down the highest Light available to us in a beautiful silence. First things will get a bit worse, yet then things will get so much better! Devotees are always under her protection and you only receive what you can also handle.
The above beings can truly elevate your consciousness and therefore change your experience and the unfolding of your life. However, only when a lesson is properly learned, you may be fast tracked and karmic challenges may be lifted. Only a select group of beings have this authority. Sometimes it is still in alignment to have an experience, pleasant or unpleasant, as your soul self needs to grow from the experience. Once you have completed your personal karma, you might (subconsciously) choose to move towards family karma and then collective karma and even planetary karma.

The Practice of Karma Yoga
Another way to fast-track your process of liberation and self-realization (meeting your Divine nature) is to work with the path of Karma Yoga, the path of the 3rd chakra or Manipura Chakra मणिपूर, seat of the Divine Will. It means you choose to take responsibility for your creations and attachments, and with this you take your first step towards liberation or moksha (मोक्ष) – the freedom from the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth, freedom from Samsara. Together with Bhakti Yoga (the Yoga of Devotion to - and Love for the Divine) this path is said to be the fastest path to reach self-realization and freedom. You accept where you are, yet take action towards your lessons. You are open to receive them and move out of resistance, since you realise the only way is through and this way you can shape a new bright future. You are responsible for your own karma, and know you're able to deal with everything gracefully. You work with the unfolding of your incarnation, dedicating your work to a higher purpose. Just like the other paths it is a path of purification, moving you closer to your divine nature. Self-inquiry is an amazing way to support your practice. Be mindful of your actions. Ask yourself when choosing an action:
Does this feel light?
Do I expand or contract?
Does this person or place energetically pulls on me? Unconditional love is patient and will always wait and give you space. If you feel a strong pull towards someone or somewhere this is often due to a karmic attachment. There and then you can choose to surrender this to the Light (Bhakti).
"Together with Bhakti Yoga (the Yoga of Devotion) this path is said to be the fastest path to reach self-realization and freedom."
In essence, Karma Yoga is about connecting with the Divine through action, while Bhakti Yoga is about connecting with the Divine through love and devotion. What is said to support your process well is when you align your Karma (कर्म) with your Dharma (धर्म). In both Hinduism and Buddhism, dharma refers to a principle of cosmic order and righteous living. It is the cosmic law that governs the multiverse and dictates a person's duties and responsibilities, their divine role in creation. Aligning karma with dharma means acting in accordance with one's true purpose and moral code (dharma), which in turn creates positive karma. It's about living in harmony with the natural order of the world and one's own inner truth, leading to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. For your Karma Yoga practice you can:
Understand your Dharma. Dharma is often described as your unique life purpose, your role in the world, or the universal law that governs all things. It's about finding your true calling and aligning your actions with it.
Act with integrity and compassion. When aligning karma with dharma, it's important to act with integrity, compassion (for yourself and others), and wisdom. This means avoiding actions driven by ego, greed, or hatred.
Embrace selfless service. Serving others and contributing to the well-being of the world can be a powerful way to align your karma with your dharma.
Be mindful of your actions. Pay attention to the consequences of your actions, both positive and negative.
Follow your intuition. Trust your inner guidance to find your dharma and live in alignment with it.
Practice self-reflection. Regularly examine your thoughts, feelings, and actions to ensure they are in line with your dharma.
By embracing these principles, you can cultivate positive karma and live a life that is both meaningful and fulfilling. Diana Cooper writes: "Our part in all of this is to 'live right', learn about and practice impeccability, pray to know the Divine Plan and your part in it, and heal and clear yourself on all levels as much as possible."

Kundalini Shakti
The divine, mystic force of Kundalini can also dissolve karmic holding patterns in your system. When the kundalini energy, which is a special electrifying energy often referred to as a coiled snake at the base of your spine, starts to rise through the sushumna, the central nadi or astral pathway in the middle of your body, it can either gently rise, or go up with an explosive orgasm (you heard that right) and burn through your chakras, clearing away blockages. When this happens, it is a true gift from life. In the days after you might experience not only pain in your belly when a lot has been burned away, also your lessons will also start to unfold rapidly. Since your energy shifted, life will move forward as a reaction to your changed energetic body and consciousness (as within so without). Your Kundalini Shakti can start to rise when you're in the presence of very high spiritual energy, such as a spiritual healer, an Avatar or even deities and guides of the Light on the other side, that surround you with their presence and blessings.
"All karma is recorded in a dimension known as the Akashic Records."
The Akashic Records
All karma is recorded in a dimension known as the Akashic Records. You can imagine the Akashic Records as a great cosmic library or archive that holds the recordings of everything that ever was, is and will be.
Akasha (Sanskrit ākāśa आकाश) refers to aether in traditional Hindu cosmology. Akasha stands for the essence of all things in the material world, the first thing created. It is the source of which the natural elements of water, fire, earth and air were sprouted from. Joanne Walmsley from Sacred Scribes describes it beautifully: "The Akashic Records are perceived to be the collective memories and histories of every thought, physical and emotional vibration, sound, major event, minor incident and all movement in eternity. They could be looked upon as a ‘memory bank’ containing details about everything that happens in the Universe, and information about every spirit and the many lives they have lived."
The Akashic Records are not tangible, however evolved souls can access and are shown the Akashic Records. They can use the information found in them for everyone's highest good and healing.
